I’m married to Ant and we have four daughters all of whom consider themselves African! My background is in art and design. I had the opportunity to develop this during our fourteen years in Africa working with local talented people, enabling them to develop their skills and produce various products that were sold locally. For example it was a great thrill to collaborate with a welder who had only made burglar bars for most of his career and see him produce beautiful pieces of furniture. Many of these people were very skilful but lacked the opportunities or the market to develop their business. My hope is to set up similar work with women in the Mpongwe area in the future that will enable them to become more self-sufficient
